We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Incident Support Specialist to join our team. This is a casual opportunity that requires capturing accurate information, reporting, strong written communication, and relationship building skills.
The successful candidate will possess the ability to demonstrate an understanding of evidence-informed frameworks for managing incidents, provide emotional support to callers, and refer to other areas within the department or externally.
A sound understanding and knowledge of policy and legislation related to child protection, child safe standards, emergency management, and reportable conduct is desirable.
This role requires working as rostered on a shift basis, on weekdays, between 8 am and 6 pm. The position involves providing high-quality support over the phone to school staff reporting incidents occurring in school communities.
Key responsibilities include collecting relevant information from callers, collaborating with them to assess each event's severity, and guiding a proportionate departmental response.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for capturing accurate information, reporting, and demonstrating superior verbal communication skills to support callers in a calm, controlled, and professional manner.
To be considered for this role, applicants must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The role is required to work as rostered on a shift basis, on weekdays, between 8 am and 6 pm, with up to a maximum of 76 hours per fortnight during school term.
