Position: Casual School Nurse – Plenty Campus, Doreen

This casual opportunity allows you to join a small, highly skilled, supportive team during peak periods, periods of leave, and school camps. The position will begin in Term 4, October 2025, with a commitment of 2 to 3 shifts per week throughout the Term.

What You Will Do

• Provide primary healthcare services, promote health and wellness, and offer first aid and health education to students and staff.
• Practice ethically, adhere to relevant legislation, advocate for children's rights, promote health for the school community, and ensure a safe environment.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with others for comprehensive care; coordinate, organise, and provide health promotion with a whole-school approach.
• Maintain accurate medical records and manage student plans; liaise with medical practitioners and parents; ensure safety equipment and supplies are available.
• Provide emergency nursing care and preventive health information.

Who You Are

• You are an experienced nurse who is confident, calm under pressure, and supports young people with empathy and clinical expertise.
• You are organised, adaptable, and collaborative — able to work independently while building strong, trusting relationships across the school community.

You Have The Necessary Experience, Knowledge And Skills

• Division 1 - Registered Nurse, current AHPRA registration and Working with Children's Check (WWCC).
• Proven adaptability and readiness to work flexibly and be available on call.
• First Aid HLTAID012 or HLTAID011 and Anaphylaxis training (highly desirable).
• Experience working with school-based systems (Synergetic and Seqta highly desirable).
• Comprehensive knowledge of school nursing, child and adolescent health & development.
• Ability to coordinate, organise, and provide health promotion with a whole-school approach.
• Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate collaborative practices and provide comprehensive school nursing care.
