Mater Dei College Seeks Experienced Basketball Professional

Mater Dei College is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to lead our Basketball Academy as Director of Basketball. This is a part-time, temporary position commencing 1 January 2025.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, programming, and organizing classes, sessions, games, and tournaments to promote learning and involvement. They will also teach basketball fundamentals, improve individual and team performance, and foster sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement basketball programs to promote student engagement and achievement
  • Lead and manage the Basketball Academy team to ensure high-quality coaching and support
  • Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and external stakeholders to promote the College's Basketball Academy
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with College goals and objectives

Requirements:

  • Relevant coaching experience and qualifications, preferably at a school level
  • Strong knowledge of basketball and ability to teach fundamentals
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team
