About the Role

The Infrastructure Systems Engineering Manager oversees all infrastructure engineering activities within the OneSKY Project. This role manages related risks, opportunities and ensures schedule, costs and quality commitments are met.

While managing a team, you'll closely interact and support the Infrastructure Project Design Authority to deliver a Fit for Purpose solution to the customer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing engineering activities across the Infrastructure project, including Site Design, Installation and Testing;
  • Managing related risks & opportunities and ensuring all key schedule, costs and quality commitments are met;
  • Closely interacting and supporting the Infrastructure Project Design Authority to deliver a Fit for Purpose solution to the customer;
  • Coordinating with other SEMs within the Project organisation, with a delivery focus;
  • Selecting, defining and deploying key engineering KPIs for Infrastructure Projects based on Discipline Director and SEM proposals;
  • Accelerating finalisation of system design by being persuasive towards internal and external stakeholders, including customers;

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Computer Science, IT or relevant field;
  • Extensive experience delivering highly complex, real-time and distributed systems engineering projects in Rail, Traffic, Marine, Aviation or safety-critical industries;
  • Experience and knowledge of site installations (physical systems) within one of the above domains is critical to success in this position;
  • Exceptional leadership skills for large multi-skilled engineering teams to deliver high performance in a matrix environment;
  • Advanced understanding of Systems Engineering processes and Functional Baseline Management, with experience in the total life cycle of complex software development, including processes and responsibilities at each stage;
  • In-depth understanding of Earned Value Management, Work Package Control and reporting, with exposure to scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera etc.);
  • Financial / budgetary management of large engineering work packages or tasks;
