Infrastructure Architect (Data Center Migration)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect with a strong background in Data Center migrations to join our client's team in Melbourne. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex migration initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, assess, and drive application migrations to a new infrastructure platform.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with domain representatives to prioritize and assess applications for migration and group them accordingly.
Assess and document the current state of applications, including server configuration, storage, integration points, criticality, user access, and more.
Create and update current state artifacts, including logical and physical architecture diagrams, if they do not exist.
Work closely with application teams to close gaps in the current state documentation and implementation.
Collaborate with teams responsible for commodity compute, enterprise compute, storage, and network to define migration approaches and refine strategies.
Provide input on migration strategies for integration and shared services.
Design and develop target state architecture for on-premise deployments, particularly for perimeter and complex applications.
Socialize target state architecture with application teams, solution design peers, security teams, and review boards to ensure alignment.
Work closely with internal architecture and security teams to obtain necessary approvals (IAF, SDG) for perimeter and/or complex applications.
Assume the technical lead role in subsequent build and migration activities, providing guidance and escalating issues where necessary.
Lead triage and resolution of any technical issues arising during the migration process.
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience in Data Center migrations, particularly in large-scale and complex environments.
Expertise in infrastructure architecture and design, with a focus on on-premise deployment strategies for complex applications.
Hands-on experience creating logical and physical architecture diagrams.
Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams (application, network, storage, compute, security, etc.).
Experience in creating and updating current state documentation for migration activities.
Solid understanding of server, storage, integration, and network components as they relate to application migrations.
Experience in leading and managing migration activities, including troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong knowledge of security protocols and frameworks related to data center migration activities.
Experience with cloud migration (AWS, Azure, etc.) is a plus.
Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, TOGAF, etc.).

Base pay range: A$80.00/hr - A$90.00/hr
