Senior Environment Specialist

We are seeking experienced professional Environmental Officers with experience in the road construction/maintenance industry for a tendering project in the Cairns Region.
Key Responsibilities- Provide timely, efficient, consistent, innovative, and compliant environment services to staff and external consultants.
- 2 years' relevant industry experience involving infrastructure project delivery, in environmental or cultural heritage management, including the provision of advice, reports, and services to Transport and Main Roads standards.
- Demonstrated experience in Ecological assessments, Environmental planning and permits, and Erosion and Sediment control.
- Auditor certification and demonstrated industry experience in an auditing role.
- Experience in the pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases of an infrastructure project.
- Experience in the implementation of management systems in accordance with relevant ISO standard.
- Certified Erosion and Sediment Control practitioner.
- Ability to liaise, consult, and build effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including the community, Local Government, contractors, and other government agencies.
- A Degree in Environmental Science/Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, or an equivalent qualification accepted by EA and able to provide evidence of both.
The proposed hours are nominally up to 40 hours per week and may vary a little to suit the project workload. The roles are based in Cairns, however some work away in regional or remote locations may also be required depending on requirements. Preference given to someone already living in the region or someone willing to relocate, however, FIFO and/or DIDO will definitely be considered.
Due to compliance, local knowledge, time constraint requirements, you must already be living in Australia, have the right to work in Australia, with well-developed interpersonal and consultative skills and a current driver's license.
