About the Role

Norton Rose Fulbright is a global law firm that provides a full business law service to the world's pre-eminent corporations and financial institutions. We have a unique opportunity for a Knowledge Lawyer to join our Legal Operations team, based in any of our Australian offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the firm's overall knowledge management strategy, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of legal services.
  • Establish policies, standards, and governance processes for managing the firm's knowledge assets, including knowledge curation and dissemination.
  • Provide research and advisory support to lawyers on complex legal issues and practice-related queries, and design and deliver training programs to educate lawyers on best practice.
  • Identify strategic precedent drafting priorities and create high-quality knowledge products, such as precedents and best practice guides, and client alerts.
  • Assist in selecting, implementing, and maintaining the firm's knowledge management technology stack, and collaborate with team leaders and stakeholders to align knowledge initiatives with their needs.

Requirements

  • Australian qualified lawyer with a strong understanding of legal research and writing.
  • Experience in drafting complex documents in plain language, designing and delivering CLE and training programs, and precedent drafting and development.
  • Experience in or familiarity with automation of precedents and processes, and ability to build strong working relationships and foster open communication with partners and legal team members.
  • Openness to exploring new technologies, tools, and approaches to knowledge management, and capacity to think outside the box and challenge traditional ways of working.
  • Commercial acumen coupled with a client-oriented focus, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to liaise with internal and external clients professionally.
