Mechanical Maintenance Technician

The main objective of this position is to perform mechanical upkeep at Pact Group, as instructed by the Maintenance Supervisor.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in a compact yet agile team responsible for the maintenance of various plastic blow molding machinery and robotic packaging systems, with opportunities for professional development.

Role Overview

Your primary responsibilities will include:

Key Performance Indicators

  • Enhancing machine uptime by collaborating with the Maintenance Supervisor on Preventative Maintenance initiatives
  • Maximizing the effective use of personnel, ensuring logged hours align with available hours
  • Driving continuous enhancements in machinery safety and promoting safe operational practices

Safety and Quality Assurance

  • Participate in relevant Workplace Health and Safety campaigns that foster a culture of behavioral safety and proactive safety measures.
  • Uphold quality standards and controls to manufacture packaging solutions that fulfill customer needs and expectations.
  • Ensure all tasks are executed in a safe manner (Take5 & LOTO) while maintaining a secure working environment.
  • Promptly report any near misses or incidents.

Reliability and Efficiency

  • Execute scheduled maintenance and mechanical repair tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Work autonomously when necessary, while also collaborating with the team to achieve optimal results for the organization.
  • Scope, document, and finalize work utilizing MEX Works Orders.
  • Support the production team as needed.
  • Coordinate with Electrical Trades when necessary.
  • Engage in Continuous Improvement Projects aimed at enhancing Safety, Productivity, Quality, and Reliability.
  • Manage spare parts inventory as required.

  • Previous experience in maintenance within a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with effective preventative maintenance practices.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • A strong safety awareness and the ability to thrive in a safety-focused culture.
  • Analytical skills for troubleshooting and diagnosing issues.

  • Problem-solving with cost-effective solutions that optimize production uptime.
  • Prioritizing safety as the foremost concern.
