Senior Indigenous Engagement Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team working in genuine partnership to enable the self-determination and aspirations of First Nations communities.

The role has program and stakeholder management responsibilities, and works within a small team to deliver high-quality services and policy implementation.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to a culture that aligns with NIAA values and fosters high-performing teams who are dedicated to achieving quality program outcomes
  • Manage complex stakeholder relationships with key Indigenous organisations and government advisory bodies
  • Collaborate and negotiate with a range of stakeholders to support project and program management activities
  • Work strategically and in partnership to deliver economic development outcomes and progress local aspirations

Requirements:

  • Able to work and collaborate within a small team and proven capability to work autonomously and independently
  • Demonstrated understanding of the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Greater Sydney, their needs, aspirations and priorities, emerging issues and the service delivered to communities within this region
  • Represent the Agency to engage and build relationships with First Nations corporations, Community Traditional Owners, Elders, Leaders and Partners
  • Experience in previous project management and desire to further strengthen knowledge and subject matter
