Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Cummins Inc. as a Field Service Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our customers across various industries, including automotive, mining, and power generation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete repairs and maintenance of heavy diesel products and attend to breakdowns in the field, working on an on-call roster.
  • Diagnose and repair engines, inspect and replace components as required, and perform engine rebuilding and reconditioning tasks.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation, and report any issues or incidents to the Service Supervisor.
  • Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.

Requirements

  • Mechanical trades qualified - Heavy Diesel Mechanic, Light vehicle mechanic, or plant mechanic with heavy experience.
  • Experience as a technician in the service and maintenance of heavy diesel products.
  • Ideal possession of engine rebuild and reconditioning experience or knowledge.
  • Hitachi, Komatsu, and Liebherr experience highly desirable.
  • Solid diagnostic capabilities with the help of systems on computers.
