Electrical Engineering Manager

The Electrical Engineering Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring electrical maintenance activities align with statutory and regulatory requirements, guaranteeing the reliability of electrical equipment to optimize business performance and minimize operational downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the mine's electrical engineering activities and projects, including statutory obligations and compliance.
  • Establishing and maintaining electrical maintenance practices according to company procedures and statutory regulations.
  • Developing, reviewing, and implementing the Electrical Engineering Management Plan (EEMP) to ensure efficient operations.
  • Controlling and managing the design and execution of electrical work and installations.
  • Providing guidance on weekly work and shutdown schedules to minimize unscheduled work and maintain productivity.
  • Driving electrical performance to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Offering technical advice and support to key stakeholders and team members.
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships across the mine site to ensure work plans align with business goals and are delivered on time and within scope.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role in a coal mine environment with proven track record of success.
  • Hold current EEM certification, electrical trade qualifications, high voltage switching, EEHA Hazardous areas, and mining supervisory competencies.
  • Post-trade engineering qualification is highly regarded for career advancement.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and ability to foster and maintain a positive safety culture.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems, specifically SAP and Microsoft Project, is highly desirable.
  • A sound knowledge of Master Data creation and update, task lists, and maintenance plans is also highly desirable.
