Job Title: Community Service Specialist

As a Community Service Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing settlement support and community care to individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver case management services to clients, ensuring their needs are met and they receive the necessary support.
  • Work closely with contractual partners, mainstream and settlement service providers, clients and their communities, and volunteers to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, understanding their strengths, needs, and goals.
  • Conduct assessments, identify client needs, and develop individualized plans to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve key performance goals and improve service delivery.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Community Services (Case Management) or relevant qualification with units related to case management or working with vulnerable people.
  • Current valid Working with Children Check (Employee) for Victoria.
  • Current valid Driver's Licence for Victoria.
  • Experience in providing effective case management to clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent interpersonal, cross-cultural communication, and client advocacy skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and experience meeting reporting requirements.
  • Sound understanding of current Commonwealth and State policies related to immigration, settlement, asylum seekers, income support, and other relevant social policies.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency with IT standard software such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and ability to use Internet and email and other online products.
