Project Manager Role

SMP Project Coordinators play a vital role in ensuring the successful execution of projects. They are responsible for leading teams, supporting health and safety practices, conducting risk assessments, tracking project progress, reviewing quality documentation, managing procurement, capturing variations and claims, mentoring project teams, and overseeing minor projects or SMP scope on major projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project teams to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Support health and safety practices and conduct regular risk assessments to mitigate potential hazards.
  • Track project progress, review quality documentation, and manage procurement to ensure timely completion.
  • Capture variations and claims, and mentor project teams to ensure knowledge transfer.
  • Oversee minor projects or SMP scope on major projects, working closely with senior project managers.

Requirements:

  • Relevant trade or engineering qualification (e.g., Diploma or Bachelor's degree).
  • At least 5 years' experience in management or senior supervision, preferably in the mining or industrial sector.
  • Strong technical knowledge of fixed plant mining and industrial projects.
  • Experience with CMS documentation and multidisciplinary project experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to work away from the office as required.
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence.
