Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Water Infrastructure Specialist to join our team in Wollongong, NSW. In this role, you will play a key part in designing and delivering water infrastructure projects that make a lasting impact on our communities.

Your primary focus will be on planning, programming, and coordinating specific projects to deliver agreed outputs on budget, on time, and to quality standards. You will also manage and assist in civil engineering, design management, and project management from planning to construction support of water and wastewater infrastructure as lead or member of a larger team.

As a Senior Water Infrastructure Specialist, you will perform a range of tasks including engineering drawings, reports, presentations, and required applications to regulatory agencies. You will engage in the development of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats. You will also prepare documentation in various civil phases including site plans, utility profiles, grading plans, cross sections, diagrams, submittal reviews, and responses to information requests.

You will ensure all technical outputs conform to the project scope, are safe, and are of appropriate quality. You will actively participate in knowledge forums and other initiatives to share best practices and learn from your peers. You will also support the development and expansion of our capability in water and wastewater design, including obtaining new clients and/or new work from existing clients.

In addition, you will contribute to proposal and bid development to support business development activities, including preparing proposal material as required. You will complete all work in line with our company's core values and procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering – Civil or Environmental Engineering or equivalent;
  • Chartership/ RPEQ or working towards is highly regarded;
  • Relevant professional experience in consulting or engineering within the water industry;
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in water and wastewater treatment plants;
  • Strong technical experience in potable water supply, gravity and pumped sewerage systems, and recycled water networks;
  • Experience in water and wastewater treatment plants for regional and urban water authorities (highly desirable but not essential);
  • Expertise with dealing with a range of clients and stakeholders including local authorities, government bodies, and commercial companies.
