Mechanical Engineer Role

A mechanical engineer is responsible for applying engineering knowledge and techniques to support the safe and effective operation, maintenance, and management of facility assets and systems. This involves technical studies, analyses, investigations, and consultations to identify, define, and develop detailed requirements for facility infrastructure and equipment modification, replacement, upgrade, and recapitalization.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform technical evaluations and provide recommendations on facility infrastructure and system modifications.
  • Design and develop solutions for technical problems of moderate to extreme scope and complexity across the mechanical engineering discipline.
  • Review and provide input on proposed changes to facility infrastructure and system changes.
  • Perform engineering calculations in support of facility infrastructure operation and design.
  • Provide technical advice on facilities system, infrastructure, and equipment reliability, operation, maintenance, life-cycle management, and costing.
  • Evaluate operational systems, equipment, processes, and infrastructure to support optimization and improvement initiatives.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Australian citizenship.
  • Minimum one year of experience with building management and control systems and facilities operation and maintenance required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification desirable.
