Maintenance and Grounds Officer Job Description

This is a part-time role that requires a skilled Maintenance and Grounds Officer to maintain the safety, functionality, and appearance of our facilities.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Maintain gardens, lawns, and common outdoor areas to a high standard.
  • Carry out general repairs and maintenance, including minor plumbing fixes.
  • Identify maintenance needs and safety risks, taking prompt corrective action.
  • Manage minor works and liaise with external contractors as required.
  • Support a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in maintenance and groundskeeping, ideally in retirement living or similar environments.
  • Strong gardening and landscaping skills with an eye for detail and presentation.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with residents.
  • A respectful, resident-focused approach.
  • Confidence in identifying maintenance issues and resolving them safely and efficiently.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently.
