Procurement Specialist

Schneider Electric is seeking an experienced Procurement Buyer to join our team in Benalla, Victoria. This permanent position will play a key role in transforming procurement for our Benalla Plant by sourcing, selecting, and developing suppliers to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead supplier selection, development, and performance audits
  • Own category spend analytics, APOP planning, and supplier negotiations
  • Work with regional and global category teams to align and execute sourcing strategies
  • Manage RFPs, pricing agreements, forecasting, reporting, and lifecycle costing
  • Achieve annual cost reductions via negotiation, benchmarking, and localisation
  • Ensure material flow, mitigate risks, and develop alternate sourcing strategies
  • Build long-term supplier partnerships that drive innovation and sustainability
  • Leverage digital tools to reduce non-value-added activities in procurement

Our ideal candidate will possess:

  • Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering coupled with previous experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of Transformer components and related supply chain requirements
  • Proven technical skills in relation to Procurement, Buying, and Sourcing requirements
  • Intermediate IT skills, experienced in the use of digital tools and other best practices
  • Strong data analysis, negotiation, and stakeholder relationship management skills
  • Project management capabilities and demonstrated experience in partnering with both domestic and international stakeholders
