Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Consultant

Job Description

A leading health institution in the Gold Coast is seeking a highly skilled Psychiatrist to join its Child and Youth Mental Health Service.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatric assessments, treatments, and consultations to patients with serious mental illness and mental health problems.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and develop treatment plans that address the complex needs of patients.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams in providing high-quality patient care and participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver educational programs for healthcare professionals, students, and the community on child and adolescent mental health topics.
  • Collaborate with other service providers to ensure seamless care transitions and promote integrated service delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, evidence-based practices, and professional standards in child and adolescent psychiatry.

Requirements
  • FRANZCP specialist registration and Medical Board of Australia registration as a medical practitioner.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Capacity to maintain accurate records and adhere to relevant policies and procedures.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration as a medical practitioner and specialist psychiatrist with the Medical Board of Australia is required.
