SHEQ Business Partner

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SHEQ Business Partner to join our People and Culture team at Volvo Group Australia. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing subject matter expertise and practical support to leaders across various divisions to continuously improve our Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) culture and management systems.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with and coach leaders to integrate SHEQ risk management into their strategic plans.
- Assist leaders in implementing SHEQ strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain and ensure compliance with the SHEQ Management System.
- Ensure that hazard, incident, and injury reporting processes are implemented.
- Produce SHEQ performance reports and coach leaders on performance review and improvement.
- Coordinate and deliver SHEQ training programs.
- Lead serious incident investigations (ICAM) and mentor leaders in the process.
- Conduct internal and external SHEQ audits.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Tertiary qualifications in WHS or an equivalent discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in a SHEQ role, ideally within the manufacturing, production, or construction industries.
- Experience as a Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator is highly desirable, along with a strong background in leading complex incident investigations (ICAM).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Independent judgment and effective problem-solving skills.
- The ability to self-manage and work collaboratively.
- The ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, standards, and guidelines within the SHEQ discipline for the manufacturing and retail industry sectors.
