Store Operations Manager

We seek a seasoned leader to helm our store operations, driving profitability, exceptional customer service, and optimised merchandising strategies while prioritising workplace safety and employee development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute targeted initiatives to achieve sales and profit objectives
  2. Oversee store budgeting, including labour costs, sales performance, inventory management, and profit margins
  3. Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers for sustained growth and excellent service
  4. Maintain high store standards through effective stock replenishment, visual display, campaigns/promotions, and merchandising
  5. Deliver superior customer experiences through strategic product and store offerings
  6. Recruit, onboard, and coach new team members to enhance talent and capability
  7. Effectively roster and manage teams through regular feedback, motivation, coaching, and development
  8. Promote a safe working environment, ensuring all staff adhere to safe working procedures
  9. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning
  10. Optimise inventory levels to meet consumer demands and seasonal fluctuations

About You:

  1. Proven retail leadership experience with a strong drive for success
  2. Demonstrated expertise in leading and managing high-performing teams
  3. Ability to establish strong internal and external relationships via effective communication and interpersonal skills
  4. Confidence and organisational skills to delegate tasks and roles effectively
  5. Experience in serving both trade and retail customers and growing businesses
  6. Demonstrated financial acumen, including understanding P&L reports, inventory management, rostering, and expense control
  7. Requirement for a valid driver's licence and capacity to perform manual tasks such as lifting 15L cans of paint
  8. Ability to handle conflict and work under pressure
  9. Capacity to build a strong team, leveraging strengths and providing leadership where necessary
  10. Knowledge of the paint/surface coating industry would be advantageous
