Operational Maintenance Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking an Operational Maintenance Assistant to join our team in maintaining Woollahra's footpaths and streetscapes. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and are passionate about providing exceptional customer service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing general maintenance services, cleaning, and upgrading works throughout the municipality. They will work from the Alexandria Integrated Facility, attending to designated retail and commercial areas owned by Woollahra Council, including suburbs such as Double Bay, Paddington, and Watsons Bay.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide general maintenance services and cleaning and upgrading works across the municipality
  • Attend to designated retail and commercial areas
  • Work as part of a small team at the Alexandria Integrated Facility
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to perform functions such as concreting, paving, painting, sweeping, and waste collection
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a flexible manner
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to work co-operatively as part of a team
  • Proven ability to carry out work in accordance with established policies and procedures, to required standards in a safe and efficient manner
  • Understanding of and commitment to WHS and EEO principles
  • Current HR Driver's Licence or willingness to obtain within the first 3 months of employment
  • WHS construction induction (White Card)
  • Available to work across a 14 day roster including weekend work
