Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Compassionate Care Specialist to join our team. This role will involve providing personalized care and support to our clients with complex needs and disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote positive relationships and connections for children and young people with family, culture, and community.
  • Empower young people to set and achieve personal goals, fostering a sense of agency and autonomy in their lives.
  • Provide positive behaviour support, therapeutic interventions, and safety to young people who may experience events of escalation and crisis.
  • Document accurately events and developments related to the day-to-day provision of care for the young individuals' journey with Lifestyle Solutions.
  • Teach important capacity building skills to young individuals diagnosed with disability, complex needs, and behaviours.
  • Ensure NDIS plans are accessible while in our care.
  • Support young people in developing essential life skills, including education, vocational training, and independent living skills.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of the children and young people.
  • Act as a mentor and role model, providing guidance and support in developing healthy interpersonal relationships.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience working with individuals with autism and complex trauma.
  • Experience in trauma-informed care and person-centered care.
  • Ability to manage restrictive behaviors with patience, empathy, and compassion.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an understanding of nonverbal cues such as body language, facial expressions, gestures, and emotions.
  • An interest in the outdoors and willingness to engage in imaginative exploration with clients.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, with the ability to express ideas, thoughts, and information clearly.
