About the Role

The CarbonNet Project is seeking a skilled Senior Geoscientist to join its team and contribute to the planning and delivery of its geological storage program for greenhouse gas (GHG) assessment permit G-5-AP.

This position offers an opportunity to leverage your knowledge and experience in subsurface exploration and development projects, with a focus on geological storage and risk assessment.

About the Team

As a Senior Geoscientist, you will work closely with external geosequestration advisors to assist with the planning and delivery of the project's GHG storage program.

You will be part of a dynamic team that works closely with businesses locally and globally to grow Victorian jobs, drive innovation, and increase Victoria's international competitiveness.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • You have demonstrated geological knowledge and experience in Oil and Gas or CCS in subsurface exploration or development projects. Experience in the Gippsland Basin would be advantageous.
  • Geoscientific skills and experience that would ideally include a combination of seismic interpretation, well correlation, core analysis, petrophysics, subsurface facies analysis and mapping, and well planning and engineering.
  • Advanced approach to risk assessment and the application of risk to determine the suitability of future monitoring plans for CO2 containment and conformance.
