Job Overview

The Lead Project Geoscientist is a critical role within our organization, responsible for the planning and delivery of the geological storage program for greenhouse gas assessment permit G-5-AP.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our CarbonNet project and work closely with external geosequestration advisors to achieve regulatory approvals.

About the Role

The Lead Project Geoscientist will join our Storage team and collaborate with Offshore Storage and Regulatory Manager to ensure the effective implementation of the project's GHG assessment permit G-5-AP.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of the geological storage program for GHG assessment permit G-5-AP.
  • Collaborate with external geosequestration advisors to achieve regulatory approvals.
  • Work closely with the Offshore Storage and Regulatory Manager to ensure the effective implementation of the project.

Requirements
  • Demonstrated geological knowledge and experience in Oil and Gas or CCS in subsurface exploration or development projects.
  • Geoscientific skills and experience that would ideally include a combination of seismic interpretation, well correlation, core analysis, petrophysics, subsurface facies analysis, and mapping, and well planning and engineering.
  • Advanced approach to risk assessment and the application of risk to determine the suitability of future monitoring plans for CO2 containment and conformance.
