As a Fish Ecologist, you will be responsible for exploring the world of river and wetland ecology. This role involves contributing to quality research at an environmental research institute and collaborating with experienced scientists and natural resource managers.
Key Responsibilities:- Contributing to fish and fish-habitat monitoring, evaluation, and reporting
- Conducting fieldwork, surveys, data management, and report writing
- Participating in conservation and ecology projects
- A science degree with a focus on fish ecology
- High level of competency in freshwater and estuarine fish identification and survey techniques
- Ability to contribute to advice, reports, scientific articles, conference presentations, and other communication outputs
- Postgraduate qualification in science or natural resource management with a focus on fish ecology
- Knowledge of riverine, estuarine, and wetland ecosystems, their biota, and their conservation management
