Training and Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Training and Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our training team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our project's training programs.

Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate training logistics, manage learning systems, and ensure compliance with various standards and statutory obligations. You will also contribute to the development of engaging learning resources and support our commitment to safety and environmental management through effective training practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify training needs across different departments and levels within the organization.
  • Collaborate with department heads and stakeholders to develop plans for training requirements and priorities.
  • Assist with the development of training materials (where applicable), including presentations, manuals, videos, and e-learning modules, tailored to meet the identified needs.
  • Utilize instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies to create engaging and effective training content.
  • Develop assessment tools and evaluation mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Design and develop training packages to meet area operational plans, based on skills needs analysis, training needs analysis, and gap closure.
  • Provide support and deliver onsite training as per plan and/or as may be required.
  • Provide support, mentoring, and coaching for on-the-job Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
Education and Experience Requirements:

This role requires a minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in specialist Training roles. The ideal candidate will hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and possess a strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies. Proficiency in various training tools and technologies, including Learning Management System (LMS) platforms and multimedia authoring software, is desirable.
