Job OverviewWe are seeking a senior leader to oversee the cyber security team, driving strategic initiatives and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
About the Role

This role involves overseeing the fulfillment of requests and queries assigned to the cyber security team, collaborating with diverse teams to develop plans and processes that support cyber security requirements, and leading the development, implementation, and review of cyber security policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving initiatives to enhance cyber security awareness and education across the organization, engaging with staff and stakeholders to promote a positive cyber security culture.


Key Responsibilities
  • Oversight of cyber security team operations, including monitoring progress and delivering quality outcomes;
  • Leadership in developing and implementing cyber security strategies and policies;
  • Development of initiatives to enhance cyber security awareness and education;
  • Collaboration with diverse teams to support cyber security requirements;

Skills and Qualifications

This position requires a strong understanding of Australian Government standards, such as the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM), as well as experience identifying, evaluating, and articulating technical risk in an enterprise environment.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, taking responsibility for team outcomes, monitor progress and follow through to deliver quality outcomes.

Detailed knowledge of the Australian Cyber Security Centre's (ACSC) Essential 8 maturity model is also highly desirable.

Certification and/or membership to relevant professional organizations, including certification in any of the following: CISSP, Security+, CISA, CISM, SABSA, GIAC and SANs, is also highly desirable.
