About the Role:

  • You'll work under the guidance of experienced Spray Painters to learn the skills and techniques required to produce high quality finishes on heavy vehicles.
  • Clean, sand, and mask vehicle surfaces to prepare them for paint.
  • Mix and match paint colours to accurately match desired colour.
  • Use spray guns and other equipment to apply paint evenly and smoothly onto vehicle surfaces.
  • Apply primers and sealers to promote paint adhesion, prevent rust, and create a solid foundation for the topcoat.
  • Apply multiple layers of paint, including basecoat, clearcoat, and other specialised coatings.
  • Skilfully blend new paint into existing areas.
  • Perform detailed touch-ups to correct imperfections.
  • Create special textures, patterns, or effects using different techniques.
  • Monitor and control drying and curing processes.
  • Inspect painted surfaces for flaws.
  • Follow all safety protocols, ensuring proper ventilation, protective gear, and a safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • Fulfill all course theory work by the due date as required.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate PPE is worn at all times.
  • Handle all company tools and equipment with due care and attention, ensuring they remain safe, clean, and in good condition.
