Job Title: Vascular Nursing Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our vascular team at Liverpool Hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse to develop specialist expertise in advanced wound care, including the use of negative-pressure therapy and the management of complex dressings.

The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including surgeons, allied health professionals, and specialist nurses, to deliver holistic, patient-centred care.

The role involves pre-operative preparation, post-operative monitoring and rehabilitation, as well as supporting patients through diabetic foot care and limb preservation strategies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering oxygen therapy and overseeing post-surgical recovery, while also contributing to collaborative care planning that prioritises holistic support and optimises patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safe, compassionate, and culturally responsive care, as well as excellent communication and engagement skills with patients, carers, and colleagues.

The role requires professionalism, empathy, and the ability to resolve conflict constructively, as well as evidence-based clinical decision-making and critical thinking.

The successful candidate will participate in risk management, WHS, and quality improvement initiatives, and be willing to advance their career in vascular nursing.

  • The position offers tailored training and ongoing professional development, mentorship from experienced Clinical Nurse Educators and Vascular CNCs, and supportive leadership from a dedicated Nurse Unit Manager.
  • The hospital provides a range of state-wide services, including critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.
  • The hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment, which will provide enhanced facilities and increased capacity to meet future population growth.
