Job Title: Injury Prevention Specialist

The Injury Prevention Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting injured staff across multiple sites in Brisbane. Developing strong relationships with team members is essential to ensure they receive the best possible care.

This organisation provides building products to the construction industry, operating in a diverse working environment that includes office, home, and site work. The successful candidate will travel throughout the QLD region, interacting with workers and being mentored by the wider Fitness for Work and HSE team.

As part of a self-insured business, the Injury Prevention Specialist will be responsible for managing injury cases, liaising regularly with third-party claim companies.

This specialist support role focuses on implementing Self-Insurance and Fitness for Work activities within QLD business units, aiming to proactively manage injured workers and maintain safe work participation.

The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to develop skills and embed injury management competencies within business units, focusing on local sites and operations near Brisbane to implement fitness for work initiatives and coordinate rehabilitation, return to work, and workers compensation claims activities.

Main responsibilities include:

- Developing and implementing injury prevention strategies
- Collaborating with a third-party Claims Manager to effectively manage claims
- Maintaining and managing the self-insurance licence with the support of the wider team
- Partnering with QLD business units through collaboration at sites
- Managing stakeholders through training and development

The ideal candidate should possess:

- A tertiary qualification in Allied Health or WHS
- Minimum 3 years' experience in claims, injury management, or occupational rehab
- Strong consulting and relationship management skills
- Workers compensation claims management experience in QLD
- Passion for mentoring staff and implementing initiatives to enhance WHS understanding
