Senior System Administrator Role

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior System Administrator to lead the decommissioning of Linux servers as part of an infrastructure optimization project in Canberra, AU. This 3-month contract requires immediate availability.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth, secure and efficient removal of legacy systems, working closely with infrastructure and operations teams to ensure compliance and minimal business disruption.

  • Lead the decomposition of Linux servers through meticulous planning, technical expertise and effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to guarantee seamless transitions and minimize downtime.
  • Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting during the decommissioning process.
  • Contribute to documentation and reporting throughout the project, fostering transparency and accountability.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Extensive experience as a Senior System Administrator, specializing in Linux systems with a proven track record in server decommissioning or migration projects.
  • Strong understanding of VMware and Wintel environments, with exposure to similar setups highly advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and meet tight project timelines.
