Senior Server Engineer – Windows & Azure

Clearance: Australian Citizens only as you need to obtain a baseline clearance within 3 months.

Our client delivers a range of enabling services and operational support to the department and to Australian businesses. They are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Server Engineer to support ICT projects and provide high-level operational expertise within the Infrastructure Services team.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day operations and BAU processes for Windows Server environments.
- Provide expert support for Windows Server OS, including troubleshooting, escalation, and major incident resolution.
- Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of core infrastructure services.

Essential Skills & Experience

- Strong expertise in Windows Server, including Active Directory, Entra ID, DNS, PKI, ADFS, File & Print, DFS, and GPO with AGPM.
- Experience with Microsoft System Centre products and Intune (SCOM, SCCM/MECM) for monitoring and patching.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity tools and practices, including application whitelisting, host-based firewalls, vulnerability scanning, and device control.

Desirable

- Experience managing Azure IaaS servers (template deployment, user/resource administration).
- Understanding of Australian Government Cyber Security frameworks (ISM, Essential 8, ACSC hardening).
- Strong technical documentation skills (SOPs, design documentation).
- Experience with Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions such as CyberArk, including credential vaulting, session monitoring, and enterprise authentication integration.
- Experience with enterprise identity management solutions.
