Groundwater Modelling Position

We are seeking highly skilled groundwater modellers to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of MODFLOW code, its variants, and custom-made 3D models.

About You

To be successful, you will have a bachelors degree (or higher) in geology, hydrogeology, environmental or civil engineering. Experience with open pit, underground mining or coal seam gas processes is advantageous.

The Opportunities

You will work on assessing impacts from resource projects on groundwater systems; developing groundwater supplies for towns, villages, mines, irrigation, stock and domestic purposes; dewatering and groundwater control needs around mines and deep excavations; and assessing groundwater for landfills and mines.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in geology, hydrogeology, environmental or civil engineering
  • Strong understanding of MODFLOW code and its variants
  • Experience with custom-made 3D models using Python scripts and/or FORTRAN code
  • Familiarity with Voronoi mesh design and layer pinching with MODFLOW-USG
  • Knowledge of automated optimisation software such as PEST
