We are seeking a skilled Climate Data Scientist to join our team in Sydney. As a member of our Climate Resilience Solutions team, you will collaborate closely with data engineers and scientists, cloud engineers, and product owners to deliver business requirements relating to ingestion and storing climate data.

This role is ideal for someone with strong knowledge of climate change and risk concepts, experience working with climate and geospatial data, and proficiency in programming languages like Python, R, or Bash.

About the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for researching climate change at global, regional, and local levels, managing, cleaning, and interpreting large datasets, and applying data science techniques to drive climate resilience outcomes.

Key Accountabilities:

    • Develop and implement data-driven projects to address climate change challenges.
    • Enhance data science processes and best practices within the team.
    • Conduct research projects and prepare reports on sustainability issues related to climate change.
    • Analyze climate scenarios and develop models for natural hazard modeling.

Requirements and Qualifications:

    • Masters degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
    • 3-5 years of experience in data science, environmental engineering, or a related field.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong understanding of climate change and risk management principles.

Salary and Benefits:
