Electrical and Controls Engineers are in high demand to support operational readiness projects at Dampier Ports. This is an exciting opportunity for those with electrical engineering expertise to make a significant impact on the success of major infrastructure projects.

About the Opportunity:

The Operational Readiness team at Dampier Ports requires an experienced Electrical and Controls Engineer to provide engineering expertise for reclaimer and offboard infrastructure. In this role, you will ensure design integrity, safety, and operational efficiency. This position offers a FIFO or residential opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review electrical designs associated with reclaimer and offboard infrastructure
  • Implement engineering design improvements to enhance system performance and reliability
  • Assess electrical and control shutdown scopes and provide feedback to stakeholders
  • Participate in factory acceptance testing as required to ensure compliance with design specifications
  • Evaluate and refine reclaimer control system design and philosophy to optimize system performance
  • Collaborate with key electrical and control stakeholders to achieve project objectives
  • Oversee electrical installations onsite to ensure adherence to design standards
  • Contribute to electrical and control system risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and documentation to support design changes and project outcomes

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • Experience with balance machines preferred
  • Previous exposure to iron ore mining operations essential
  • Familiarity with functional safety principles and regulations
  • Valid C class Driver's License required
