About the Role

The Australian Defence Force is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nuclear Submarine Officer to join our team. As a Nuclear Submarine Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the nuclear reactor and nuclear propulsion system operations to ensure safe and efficient performance.
  • Oversee the onboard weapons systems management, including the tactical deployment of the submarine.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of atmosphere control and fire control systems.
  • Drive the vessel and chart its position, utilizing your expertise in navigation and communications.
  • Operate and maintain communications and intelligence equipment.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in nuclear propulsion, as well as experience in submarine operations and management. You will also need to possess excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
