The Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as an Academic Professional Development Specialist. As a key member of the Professional Learning team, you will play a vital role in supporting and enhancing the culture of professional learning within the learning and teaching domain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Coordination: Coordinate and deliver Higher Education Academy programs for Murdoch University staff, affiliates, and PhD Candidates, including taught programs and direct applications for Advanced Higher Education Academy fellowships.
  • Professional Learning Design and Delivery: Collaborate in the design, delivery, and evaluation of professional learning programs and activities related to Murdoch University's strategic development of learning and teaching.
  • Supporting Strategic Change Initiatives: Contribute to strategic change initiatives in learning and teaching by providing expert advice and support.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with individual academics, unit and course teams, and disciplines to develop professional learning programs responsive to the needs of the university community.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Hold a PhD in an area relevant to appointment or equivalent recognition of contribution to learning and teaching, and a Fellowship or Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
  • Experience: Have experience in leading and facilitating professional learning programs and activities focused on learning and teaching in higher education.
  • Demonstrated Skills: Demonstrate experience in supporting, mentoring, and/or assessing Higher Education Academy fellowships, knowledge of contemporary approaches to professional development, pedagogy, and assessment.
  • Initiative and Project Delivery: Show demonstrated ability to work under broad direction only, exercise initiative, and deliver project outcomes.
  • Research and Scholarship: Possess a track record of research or scholarship in an area that contributes to the field of learning and teaching in higher education.
  • Innovative Course Design: Have experience and success in innovative course and program design and delivery.
