We are in search of a seasoned leader to oversee our operations in the Electrical & Electronics sector at Komatsu Mining.

As the Business Unit Manager, you will be accountable for managing a team of 2 direct reports and up to 35 indirect reports across two active bays in our facility.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, your main objective will be to provide effective and supportive leadership while fulfilling our commitments to clients.

You will collaborate closely with project management, engineering, sales, and supply chain teams to ensure the smooth functioning of the electrical and electronic divisions, consistently surpassing customer expectations and meeting commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Overseeing manufacturing performance in alignment with operational budgets.
  2. Leading a team responsible for quality quoting, estimating, and planning.
  3. Accountability for financial performance and business objectives.
  4. Managing risks, safety protocols, workforce efficiency, and productivity.
  5. Mentoring, training, and developing workshop staff.
  6. Contributing to business strategy and enhancing manufacturing processes.

Qualifications:

  1. Electrical trade or degree qualifications.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy manufacturing within a hazardous environment.
  3. Strong business acumen.
  4. Experience in underground mining equipment is desirable.
  5. At least 5 years of people management and leadership experience.
  6. Experience in planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
  7. Proficient in computer skills, including MS Office and MRP; SAP experience is a plus.
