Financial Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team at Kmart. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of monthly group reporting for Kmart Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation of monthly group reporting for Kmart Group.
  • Ensure all assigned journals, accruals, reconciliations, and reports are prepared in accordance with Wesfarmers group reporting requirements in a timely manner.
  • Manage IT cost center accounting, including month-end processing, budgeting, and forecasting, and off-charging as required.
  • Participate in project work, including the implementation of strategic projects and systems.
  • Gain exposure to the preparation of half-yearly statutory reporting deliverables, including impairment testing and key audit deliverables.
  • Prepare survey and statistics information and insurance renewal materials.
  • Identify risks and opportunities for the business.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years' experience in a mid-large scale corporate business with a good understanding of accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in the use of Financial Systems (SAP), including completing ledger reconciliations.
  • Professional accounting qualification (CA or CPA) or in progress.
  • Strong computer software skills, including advanced knowledge and use of Excel.
  • Ability to drive improvements and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer focus.
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
