Job Description

Guide dogs provide independence and companionship for individuals with low vision or blindness. As a kennel attendant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of these animals.

  • Manage the daily care of guide dogs, including feeding, watering, toileting, bathing, and grooming.
  • Ensure the safe transportation of dogs to puppy raisers, trainers, clients, and other relevant parties.
  • Assist with veterinary care, implementing health treatment plans as necessary.
  • Implement dog handling techniques and supervise the general behaviour of kennelled dogs, maintaining a positive and calm environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate health records of individual dogs while boarding in the kennels.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all kennel areas and associated equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain a healthy kennel environment, promoting the welfare of the dogs in our care.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Experience in kennel management, demonstrating good dog handling skills and effective leadership.
  • Ability to competently handle dogs of all ages and at various levels of training.
  • Hold a valid driver's license in NSW for transporting dogs.
