Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for calculating the cost of proposed projects, researching prices, and collecting quotes from suppliers and subcontractors. They will also be responsible for monitoring inflation and exchange rates, checking client requirements, and drawing up bids for work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Calculate the cost of proposed projects, taking into account various factors such as materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Research prices and collect quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Monitor inflation and exchange rates to ensure that estimates are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Check client requirements to ensure that estimates meet their needs.
  • Draw up bids for work, including detailed and accurate price lists for all necessary materials and services.
  • Monitor projects to ensure that costs stay in line with forecasts.
  • Consider risk assessments and health and safety requirements to ensure that estimates are comprehensive and accurate.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as an estimator in the construction industry.
  • Experience working with fit-out contractors is highly desirable.
  • Experience with similar-sized projects is essential.
  • Proficiency in using CUBIT and PROCORE is an advantage.
  • Stability with previous employers is a must.
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic are essential.
