Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

About the role:
Ventia, a leading infrastructure services company, is seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our Defence Maintenance Contract (DMC) team in a full-time permanent capacity.
This role will see you conduct meticulous inspections of Defence vehicles, using your expertise to ensure they meet Defence regulatory standards and are safe for operation.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed inspection checklists.
- Conduct regular quality inspections of other employees' work against set standards, specifications, and investigate non-conforming work.
- Scheduled and unplanned maintenance tasks, including inspection, preventative servicing, fault diagnostics, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy military vehicles, plant, and support equipment.
- Routine condition inspections/reports, modifications, and upgrades on a wide range of military vehicles.
- Replacing or repairing damaged/malfunctioning parts following inspection and performing work of a technical nature on military equipment.
About you:
- Certificate III in Heavy Road Transport Mechanical Technology or equivalent is essential.
- Demonstrated experience working unsupervised on Heavy commercial vehicles.
- Current Australian HR Driver's Licence.
- Demonstrated ability and practical experience to inspect, repair, and maintain Light, Medium, and/or Heavy vehicle to a medium level of repair.
