About the Role

Ventia is a leading provider of Defence Maintenance Support Services across Australia, with over 20 years of experience delivering support to the Australian Defence Force. We are seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our Defence Maintenance Contract (DMC) team in a full-time permanent capacity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scheduled and unplanned maintenance tasks, including inspection, preventative servicing, fault diagnostics, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy military vehicles, plant, and support equipment.
  • Routine condition inspections/reports, modifications, and upgrades on a wide range of military vehicles, including armoured 4WDs, trucks, tracked, and other heavy armoured vehicles.
  • Replacing or repairing damaged/malfunctioning parts following inspection, and performing work of a technical nature on a wide range of military equipment.
Requirements
  • Certificate III in Heavy Road Transport Mechanical Technology or equivalent is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience working unsupervised on Heavy commercial vehicles is essential.
  • Current Australian HR Driver's Licence is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability and practical experience to inspect, repair, and maintain Light, Medium, and/or Heavy vehicle to a medium level of repair is desirable.
  • Refrigerant handling licence is desirable.
