Job Title: Optometrist Assistant

About the Role:

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic professional to assist our optometrists with pre-testing duties.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the team in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring that patients receive high-quality care.
  • You will also play a key role in promoting eye health awareness and education within the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting optometrists with pre-testing duties, including visual acuity testing and refraction.
  • Providing customers with frame styling advice and helping them find the perfect pair of glasses.
  • Ensuring that all customer interactions are friendly, efficient, and courteous.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve sales targets and drive business growth.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 months optical experience and retail/customer service experience.
  • Cert IV Dispensing qualification is highly desired, but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues alike.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
