**Role Summary**:

We are seeking an Aboriginal Education and Cultural Ambassador to play a key role in promoting educational outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. The successful applicant will have a clear understanding of Catholic education principles and values, and be committed to supporting the school's Catholic ethos and culture.

The role involves working collaboratively with students, staff, and the wider community to establish productive partnerships and achieve educational goals for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. This includes developing Personal Learning Plans (PLPs) to improve educational outcomes and support educational pathways.

The successful applicant will be responsible for promoting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives within the school and engaging with the local and wider Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. They will work closely with classroom teachers, curriculum teams, wellbeing teams, ministry teams, and Learning Support teams to develop and implement strategies that enhance cultural awareness and understanding.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Developing and implementing culturally responsive teaching practices to improve educational outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
  • Liaising with the local and wider Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community to promote cultural awareness and understanding
  • Working collaboratively with staff and students to establish productive partnerships and achieve educational goals
  • Developing and implementing PLPs to support educational pathways and improve student outcomes

**Requirements:**

  • A four-year trained teacher qualification or equivalent experience
  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander status is a genuine occupational requirement
  • Active NESA Accreditation
  • Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number
  • Completion of anaphylaxis training
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Current unrestricted Class C Drivers Licence
  • Willingness to comply with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead Policy
