
Fleet Safety Specialist

The Fleet Compliance and Training Officer is responsible for ensuring the council's fleet operates in compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and regulations.
This role will develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills of drivers and fleet users, conduct regular audits and inspections, and collaborate with teams to promote a culture of safety and accountability.
The ideal candidate will possess relevant qualifications and experience in the heavy vehicle industry, particularly in Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and National Heavy Vehicle Law (NHVL).
- Develop and deliver theory and practical training packages.
- Assess competency of operational staff.
- Interpret legislation, regulations, standards, and codes of practice to ensure compliance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Overseeing fleet compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and regulations.
- Developing and implementing training programs for drivers and fleet users.
- Conducting regular audits and inspections.
- Collaborating with teams to promote a culture of safety and accountability.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Relevant Qualifications/Completed Modules in Training and Assessment for Verification of Competency.
- Experience in the heavy vehicle industry, particularly in Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and National Heavy Vehicle Law (NHVL).
- Proven ability in assessing competency of operational staff.
