We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a proven background in maintaining data centres, particularly for critical ICT services, with familiarity in Defence environments and protocols.

">About the Role

The Data Centre Engineer will be responsible for auditing and maintaining existing data centre footprints, ensuring high-quality work and reporting progress via the ticketing system.

  • Cabling & Connectivity: Install, terminate, test, and label CAT6, fibre, and MDF phone lines within the IBX environment.
  • Hardware Setup: Install ICT hardware, including shelves, rails, power strips, and cable management systems.
  • Infrastructure Maintenance: Support ongoing infrastructure projects, including installation, updates, rationalisation, and decommissioning.
  • System & Environment Audits: Conduct physical audits, update CMDB systems, and perform power and cooling assessments.
  • Reporting & Quality Standards: Maintain cleanliness, ensure high-quality work, and report progress via the ticketing system.
Required Skills & Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A proven background in maintaining data centres, especially for critical ICT services, with familiarity in Defence environments and protocols.
  • Working knowledge of PowerIQ and DC Track systems.
  • Ability to manually handle, climb ladders, and lift up to 25kg.
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends during transition periods.
  • An IT or Telecommunications degree or diploma is preferred.
