Data Centre Technician Role

We are seeking a highly skilled technician to join our Melbourne team, responsible for the installation and maintenance of data centre equipment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical skills, customer service skills and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Equipment Installation: Assist with the installation of customer equipment, ensuring timely delivery and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Facility Rules Compliance: Maintain in-depth knowledge of facility rules and ensure adherence at all times, guaranteeing a safe and secure working environment.
  • Cabling Services: Deliver cabling needs, electrical and data, to customer racks and areas efficiently and accurately.
  • Remote Hands Support: Attend to remote hands requests promptly, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Assist with the maintenance of all core electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve facility problems in a timely manner, minimising downtime and ensuring business continuity.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Data Centre Knowledge: Highly desirable, with a strong understanding of data centre infrastructure and operations.
  • Fibre Optic Cabling Experience: Essential, with hands-on experience installing and maintaining fibre optic cabling.
  • Customer Service and Communication Skills: Excellent, with a proven track record of providing exceptional customer service and effective communication.
  • TAFE Certificate in Telecommunications: A TAFE certificate in telecommunications is highly regarded, demonstrating a solid foundation in telecommunication principles.
  • A-Grade Electrical License: Desirable, with an A-grade electrical license indicating a high level of electrical competence.
