Sustainability Director

We are seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Manager to join our team at CAR Group. As a key member of our People and Culture team, you will play a critical role in driving our global sustainability strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Decarbonization Strategy: Collaborate with global teams to develop and execute a comprehensive decarbonization strategy, including assessing emissions reduction opportunities and implementing initiatives to minimize our environmental footprint.
- Sustainability Reporting: Assist in preparing for mandatory Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS) and other regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance and transparency in our sustainability reporting.
- Carbon Accounting: Support the implementation of our carbon accounting platform and work with global teams to calculate our greenhouse gas (GHG) footprint, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to reduce emissions.
- Supply Chain Engagement: Review our supply chain and engage with key suppliers to understand their carbon emissions management practices, enabling us to better measure, manage, and reduce our Scope 3 emissions.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Contribute to various sustainability initiatives, including the production of our annual Sustainability Report, external ESG rankings, and materiality assessments, ensuring the sustainability hub on our shareholder website is up-to-date with our latest sustainability efforts.
- Sustainability Expertise: Strong understanding of sustainability reporting standards, environmental landscape, and decarbonization strategies and approaches.
- Experience: Several years of experience working in in-house sustainability roles or consulting with an environmental and/or reporting focus.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Exceptional stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to influence and drive results.
- Analytical Skills: Analytical and innovative thinker, passionate about continuous learning and process improvement, with a critical eye for detail and a holistic view of sustainability challenges.
- Global Collaboration: Willingness to work in a global business, collaborating with teams across multiple time zones, and a proactive can-do attitude to drive results.
