We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our team at Cairns Airport. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of airline customers' catering needs.

About the Position
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with all departments regarding any changes to orders from aircraft.
  • Represent the company at internal and external events, promoting products and services in a positive light.
  • Participate in regular audit and quality control processes to ensure compliance with rigorous standards.
  • Provide expert advice to client airlines on customer service, logistical, and customs information.
  • Improve customer service quality results by obtaining feedback from clients and implementing improvements.
  • Develop and implement communication service standards and productivity, quality, and customer service guidelines.
  • Proactively address performance issues by identifying root causes and providing support to prevent future occurrences.
  • Contribute to operational cost management through education and training in areas such as flight make-up, aircraft loading, and inventory management.
  • Implement strategies for planning and forecasting using effective business tools, systems, and resources.
  • Assist with forecasting manpower and accurately rostering for operations.
  • Lead and guide staff while on shift, building rapport and providing leadership.
  • Assist the Unit Manager in managing daily operations, including production kitchens, stores, purchasing, and customer delivery teams.
Requirements
  • A positive attitude and winning mentality.
  • Knowledge or experience in a client or account management role is preferred but not essential.
  • Food Safety and HACCP qualifications are desirable.
  • Availability to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solutions-focused and strong problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge of the airline catering industry is preferred but not essential.
  • Possession of a current clean MR or HR driver's license is preferred but not essential.
  • The ability to obtain an ASIC pass and Airside Driver's Authority.
  • A clear National Police Check is required.
